BRICS nations viz. Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa have issued a Joint Declaration to ensure orderly and legal migration amongst member nations and respect human rights.

The declaration was issued at the first BRICS Ministerial meeting on Migration held in Sochi, Russia in line with Ufa Declaration.

Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju had led the Indian delegation to this meeting. It was also attended by representatives of Shanghai Cooperation Council (SCO), Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and other International bodies on migration.
