Sania Mirza, Martina Hingis win 2016 WTA Apia International title of Tennis
Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis’ awe-inspiring run continued unabated as they lifted their second trophy of the season with the WTA Apia International title after clinching their 30th win a row.
the final match played at Sydney (Australia), the top seeded duo defeated French pair Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic by 1–6, 7–5, [10–5] score.
Points to Note
- It was their overall 11th title together from 2015 when they had won 9 titles and second title of season 2016. It was also their 30th match win together in a row.
- 11 WTA doubles titles are: Indian Wells, Miami, Charleston, Wimbledon, US Open, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Beijing and the WTA Finals, Brisbane (2016) and Sydney (2016).
- Record: Their consecutive 30-match winning streak together also created world record. They broke previous record held by Gigi Fernandez (Puerto Rico) and Natasha Zvereva (Belarus) who had notched up 28 straight victories in 1994.
Women’s Single Title
- Svetlana Kuznetsova (Russia) has won the 2016 WTA Apia International title in the Women’s Singles Category. In the final match she defeated Mónica Puig of Puerto Rico by 6–0, 6–2 score.

Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis duo wins Singapore BNP Paribas WTA Finals
Sania Mirza (India) and Martina Hingis (Switerzerland) has won the 2015 BNP Paribas WTA Finals Women’s double category.
In the final match played in Singapore, the Indo-Swiss duo defeated Spanish pair of Garbine Muguruza and Carla Suarez Navarro by 6-0, 6-3 score.
It overall ninth World Tennis Association (WTA) doubles titles won by the Indo-Swiss pair together in 2015 season so far. The duo earlier had won the Indian Wells Open, Miami Open, Charleston Opem, Wimbledon, US Open, Guangzhou Open, Wuhan Open and China Open.
They also have secured 2015’s WTA Year-End world number one ranking in Women’s double category.
BNP Paribas WTA Finals Women’s Single category
Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland won the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Women’s in the singles category.
In the final match she defeated, Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic by 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 score to win her maiden WTA Finals title.

Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis win 2015 China Open Women’s Doubles Title of tennis
The Indo-Swiss pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis has won the 2015 Women’s Doubles Title of China Open.
In the final match played in Beijing the pair defeated the Chinese pair of Yung-Jan Chan and Hao-Ching Chan in three sets score of 6-7, 6-1 and 10-8.
It was overall eighth World Tennis Association (WTA) doubles titles won by the Indo-Swiss pair together in this year so far. The duo earlier had won the Indian Wells Open, Miami Open, Charleston Opem, Wimbledon, US Open, Guangzhou Open and Wuhan Open in 2015 season.
So far this season, the Indo-Swiss pair has won 8 of 15 titles which they played in 2015 season and have an incredible 44-7 win-loss record together since they had paired up in March 2015.

Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis win Wuhan Open women’s doubles title
Ace Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis are on winning spree, as the duo clinched its seventh title together by winning the Wuhan Open women’s doubles trophy. The top-seeded pair eased past the Romanian team of Irina-Camelia Begu and Monica Niculescu 6-2, 6-3 in the title clash. Sania and Hingis had it relatively easy in the second round, quarterfinals and semi-finals after getting a first round bye in the tournament.
Sania and Hingis dropped serve three times and fought back from a 2-0 deficit in the second set to emerge triumphant in the summit clash today. With this win, the Indo-Swiss pairing has seven WTA doubles titles together this year — Indian Wells, Miami, Charleston, Wimbledon, the US Open, Guangzhou and Wuhan. They have won their last three tournaments and their last 13 matches without dropping a single set.

Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis win Guangzhou Open title
Indo-Swiss tennis pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis have won women’s doubles title of 2015 Guangzhou Open Tennis Tournament.
In the final match they defeated Chisese pair of Shilin Xu and Xiaodi You by 6-3, 6-1 score.
It was overall seventh title of Sania Mirza in the 2015 season and sixth title with Martina Hingis.
Till date both of them have won 6 of 13 titles they played in 2015 season including in Women’s Double category of Indian Wells, Miami Open, Charleston Open, Wimbledon and US Open.
They have an incredible 42-7 win-loss record together since they had paired up in March 2015.
