Wipro awarded 2015 Aegis Graham Bell Award

Global software major Wipro has been awarded 2015 Aegis Graham Bell Award for developing a solution for the Internet of Things (IoT).
The award has been bestowed upon Wipro’s IoT solution ‘Universal Data Parser’ (UDP). The UDP enables flexible adaptation of data streams from a wide range of end devices to IoT platforms and data stores.
Presently, Wipro is India’s third-largest software services firm after Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Infosys.

About Aegis Graham Bell Awards

  • It is India’s largest and the only innovation award in the field of Telecom, Internet, Media and Entertainment (TIME) and Social, Mobility Analytics and Cloud (SMAC).
  • Established by the Aegis School of Business as a tribute to the father of the telephony, Sir Alexander Graham Bell.
  • The award is intended to promote innovation, entrepreneurship in the field of TIME and to provide recognition for outstanding contributions in this field in India.

Infosys to acquire US based firm Noah Consulting

India’s second largest software services major Infosys has announced acquisition of US-based oil and gas consulting firm Noah Consulting for 70 million US Dollars in an all-cash deal.
This acquisition is part of Infosys strategy to bring next generation data analytics solutions to the oil and gas industry.
Noah Consulting was founded in 2008 and has emerged as a leading provider of advanced information management consulting services for the oil and gas industry. It helps oil and gas companies to create and deploy information solutions in order to generate value from their oil and gas assets.

Infosys appoints Ranganath D Mavinakere as new CFO

India’s second largest software services firm, Infosys has appointed Ranganath D Mavinakere as new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
He will succeed Rajiv Bansal who was Executive Vice President (EVP) and the CFO of Infosys and had resigned from the company.
Prior to this appointment, Mavinakere was EVP and head of strategic operations and CEO’s office of Infosys.
He has rich experience of about 18 years across banking and IT services industries. In his 15-year career with Infosys, he has held several leadership positions in the company.
​Mavinakere worked with ICICI Limited from 1991 to 1999 where he was senior Vice President of Treasury and Planning.
