Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched the official twitter account of Taj Mahal, on Independence Day.
The state's Tourism’s Secretary Amrit Abhijat claims that Taj Mahal would be the first historic monument in the world to have a twitter account. “The Taj Mahal is the first historical monument in the world which has a twitter account of its own,” he said.
Taj Mahal, which goes by the handle @TajMahal on Twitter already has a verified account and nearly 11,000 followers at the time of writing this.
This is what the bio of the Twitter account says: "The official Twitter handle of the World's most Loved Monument, located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. One of the wonders of the World."
